bear cottage news
Families from all over Australia stay with us when the demands of constant care become too great. Freed from those pressures, parents can spend quality time with their children and create lasting, positive memories.
While staying with us, children receive state-of-the-art medical care in a welcoming and home-like environment. In fact, the care we provide is second to none because we're part of the Pain and Palliative Care Unit at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. And because we're the only children's hospice in New South Wales, we provide a vital lifeline of help and respite that no-one else can.
We also run camps to help young people and their families connect with others facing similar situations. And when the time comes, for parents and children to say their final farewells, we help each family cope with this challenging period with a level of privacy, respect and dignity that is deeply moving and humbling.
So, as you can see, Bear Cottage really is a very special place.
It is also a place that needs your support. It costs over $2.5 million to operate Bear Cottage each year. Families pay nothing when they stay with us we think they're going through enough already. And we receive no recurrent government funding. That means we depend entirely on the generosity of the general public to remain open. We depend on caring people, like you.
Please take a moment now and DONATE to this important cause.
Your generosity will help us provide a place that is desperately needed by everyday families facing the most tragic of circumstances. But perhaps more importantly, a donation today will mean that when a family looks back on this very difficult time, what they remember won't just be the sickness and the sadness, but also the happy and precious moments they all spent together here at Bear Cottage.
-We promise every dollar will be stretched as far as it can go.
