Families come to Bear Cottage for:

respite care

The intermittent, temporary care of eligible children and their families. Respite is an important component of the care offered to patients. Families can stay at Bear Cottage together or patients can come on their own.

end-of-life care

Bear Cottage provides a comfortable, supportive environment with trained staff as an alternative or compliment to the home or hospital for end-of-life care. Admissions are accepted 24-hours a day.

A child admitted for end-of-life care may stay at Bear Cottage for as long as necessary or come and go according to the family's needs and wishes.

The child's family can be accommodated in a separate family suite, adjoining the child's room.
